I get it — figuring out what everyone is going to wear can feel like the hardest part of the whole process.

My biggest piece of advice? Don't overthink it.

Choose outfits that feel like you, that your kids are comfortable in, and that allow you to move, cuddle, play and relax without constantly adjusting things.

Think of your session as more than just a photo shoot — think of it as dedicated time together.

If you can, take the afternoon off work, pick the kids up from school a little early and make a day of it. Head out for ice cream afterwards, grab dinner together, or simply enjoy having nowhere else to be for a few hours.

I know that's not possible for every family, and sometimes a weekend session is the only option. But if your schedule allows, a weekday session can feel a little slower, a little more relaxed, and a wonderful excuse to spend some quality time together.
